The Children Emergency Foundation makes a difference in the lives of children right here in Canada each school day.
We partner with breakfast clubs, lunch programs, and snack programs throughout
Canada to make sure hungry children have access to nutritious food. Over 70,000 children are impacted by our work, one meal at a time.Each day, over 1.1 million children in Canada face the devastating effects of poverty. Poverty grabs a hold of children and doesn’t let go. Poverty has
a devastating effect. Poverty in Canada looks like this:
- children who are embarrassed that they had no lunch to bring to school
- children who come to school hungry
- children who fall asleep at their desks because they have no energy
- children who get sick often
- children who drop out of school
- children who give up hope.
The Children’s Emergency Foundation steps into these situations and drastically changes the futures of children living in poverty in Canada.
We partner with over 400 community groups throughout the country to provide nutritious breakfasts, snacks & lunches to over 70,000 children each school day.
